Preventative Care: Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up. Preventative healthcare involves a multi-faceted approach that includes veterinary evaluation of your pet's overall health and risks of disease or other health problems. Based on the findings, your veterinarian will provide you with recommendations for your pet's nutrition, dental care, vaccinations and heartworm/flea/tick prevention, as well as recommendations specifically tailored to your pet's health status and risk factors.
Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our veterinary hospital. It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral
shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. Dr. Fogelson, Dr. Kane and Dr. Gerow can still
work with whatever information you have.
In some circumstances, our veterinary team will refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
